We had a nice hike today around Hicks Lake. We went clockwise, as the trailhead by the beach at the north (parking-end) was mostly under water. With the higher spring water, we started at the yellow gate on the service road left of the parking...More

We visited in April and tried to catch fish. No luck, but also no people, which was nice. Didn't swim. Dirt road access was quite potholed.

Beautiful lake for swimming and fishing. Good government campground. Enjoyable hiking trail around lake that takes approx 1 hour to complete.

Beautiful lake with some lovely secluded beaches that are reachable with canoes that you can rent at the lake. Warm enough to swim in, and we can't wait to go back.

Hiked our way round the entire lake, nice and easy with some great views. Some nice spots that are perfect for getting your feet wet or having a quick swim.
