I booked this adventure through Discover Banff. They provided transportation from my hotel, ice cleats for my shoes, and a terrific guide, Ali. The walk was treacherous, and scary at times, but well worth it for the scenery. It's not for people with physical limitations,...More

Hi Marie, Glad you enjoyed your trip into Johnson Canyon. Next time you are in the Canadian Rockies, be sure to visit us at the Athabasca Glacier (what this listing describes). That's the original Ice Walk! Cheers, The Iceman

We booked the ice walk in preference to the truck tour so we could get closer and spend more time on the ice and that exactly what we did. The whole tour, including making sure we had the correct equipment, took three hours and we...More

I said to myself I would NEVER waste my money on those cramped, touristy ice vehicles where you spend little time on the glacier and contribute to the destruction of ANY glacier!!!!! I was strongly debating between taking the Wilcox Pass trail and Parker Ridge...More

We drove from Jasper for the 10am, 3.5 hour Ice Cube walk. They did start on time. Besides the short walk from the parking lot, you are on the glacier the whole time. Not sure how you would work it in with the snow coach.
