I was surprised to see this hidden gem along my new found bike trail. It is right along residential areas, yet it is expansive with lots of green space to relax, exercise, dog walk or picnic. Though it is getting cooler, it is still a great place for outdoor enthusiasts without being too hard to hike.

Quiet and peaceful walk by Bow River. Lovely views of the mountains. Saw several fly fishermen, and off leash areas for dogs.

I love riding my mountain bike along the ridge above the Bow river. As good as in the mountains without the long drive.

There have been many chages since I started going there years ago. The off leash fenced area is a bonus however miss the easy access to the water with the dogs

We took a two hour hike with 3 adults, a 13, 12, and 10 year old, and also a 21 month old toddler (carried in baby carrier). This trail is great with many views of Bow river and it is so peaceful. Many take their dogs here and bike around as well. There are many different paths which are great... More

Tucked away in NW Calgary are some of the prettiest trails and views that the city has to offer. A nice alternative to packing up the car and heading to Canmore and Banff for the day, Bowmont offers elevation changes, varying terrain, trickling springs, sheltered valley paths and sweeping vistas from sandstone hills. It is possible to spend an hour... More

This is one of my favourite parks in the city for its views. Part of the pathway is right along the Bow River. Watch out, you might even see an osprey (there is a nest) or an eagle on the shore! Some parts are a bit elevated so you get fantastic mountain views as well. Even in winter absolutely beautiful.

Linear park along the Bow river with both paved and single track trails for biking and running. Great view of the river and you might see some deer or beavers along the way

This is such a great place - adjacent to a suburban area but a wonderful walking, biking and dog walking area! It is not manicured either - just left to its natural state while allowing the public to enjoy its benefits. There is a lookout spot that provides fantastic views of the Bow River and of northern Bowness, and the... More
