As an aeronautic fan this is a GREAT collection. If you plan to attend with younger folks (not so much) unless you go on fathers' day - more attention to interactive openings. The collection is absolutely TOP NOTCH and excellent in presentation. They will have to do far better at "interactive" items or open cockpits of lesser "at risk" aircraft... More

We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed your visit! We are certainly planning to introduce more interactive elements, as it is inspiring to see children's eyes light up when they see our aircraft, and we want to make it an even better experience for them. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. More

The Hangar Flight Museum (formerly the Aero Space Museum of Calgary), like its counterparts in Victoria and Winnipeg, provides a nice overview of Canadian innovations in aviation, with specific emphasis on Western Canada. While the overall space is pretty small, there is still some significant history to be seen, read and heard within the museum walls. For example, you can... More

Pretty nice to have in the city but I find it's not interactive enough for kids. We saw a mock-up cockpit that my son would have loved but it was half hidden away and apparently only available on Father's Day...weird. I realize that kids COULD damage some items but there wasn't one aircraft you could actually go in (not even... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Adding more interactive elements is certainly on our radar and we are working toward it. The mock-up cockpit, for example, is currently being worked on but is not finished yet. We do open up about 5-6 aircraft for interior viewing on the Father's Day weekend. More

Not world-class, but still a worthwhile collection of airplanes from the past. Lots of connections to Alberta's history.

Every year, we visit the Hangar Flight Museum and experience the guts and glory of the Flying Legends. It is like a step back in time. The Museum's collection includes many historically significant airplanes that span the entire century of Canadian flight. Visitors from seniors to children can find something of interest. My advise - Take a step into history... More

See a wide variety of planes over time. Small area but very accessible. Free parking. Was there for a special event, right among the planes.

We went to the flight museum on a Saturday morning. Don t expect the air and space museum in Washington DC, but it is a very interesting little museum for adults and specially for children. The staff is friendly. On the day of our visit, there was a workshop for electronics, for adults as well as for children. Very educational... More

If you don't overstay and just keep the educational component light, your kids will love it. They can walk right up to authentic RCAF fighter planes, a bomber, gun turrets, an ejection seat and missiles! Our eleven-year-old son loved it. He was initially hesitant to break away from his video games to tour up to North Calgary, but in the... More

It's not a big place but you get to wander around and see planes from the past and how far we have come in aviation.
