We started the first portion on Lake Louise, which was totally frozen with a well packed walking path. We continued for about 2km after clearing the lake. The path continues to be well packed and the scenery became even better with glaciers in plain view....More

Beautiful scenery and canoe rental was easy to do and fun. Hiking trails are well maintained and there are lots of trails. Be prepared for lots of people.

We hiked from Lake Louise up to the tea house. It was a long hike, but it was worth it. The view of Lake Louise and of the Glaciers was really nice.

Spent some time hiking in this area. It can be a bit of a challenge in the winter months when the snow is fresh and thick. But it's a gorgeous views from all around

I'm not exactly in the best shape of my life, but I made it up to the plain and a little bit beyond. I think it took us about an hour and a half to make it up to the top. It is a bit...More

A solid walk in time but the elevation gain is pretty gradual so it is easy. The further you go, the fewer people and its worth it to see the wild life.

The plain of the six glaciers trail was a beautiful hike! It includes a tea house along the trail which was a great place to stop for a hot bowl of soup and cup of tea. The views looking back on Chateau Lake Louise are...More

This view was breathtaking although it was a hike to get there. Once you are on top the view was just gorgeous. Be sure to pack snack bars along the way.

We've been there at rainy day and got wet, but it was worth it. The hike starts from the Lake Louise bus stop, keeps going on the lakeshore all the way up to the mountains. Road signs available on every crossroads, so you can't be...More

We did this hike as part of the Lake Agnes/Plains of Six Glaciers loop. I logged over 17 kms on my Garmin. Elevation from the Agnes tea house wasn't as steep as this tea house is at a lower elevation. Bring lots of water and...More

You can also rent Yak traxs in town if needed. We did the hike with just regular hiking books (not water proof) and were fine. The trail is packed so getting wet is less of an issue. Its the ice that will be the big deal... More

We visited in the Summer and it snowed lightly. Unless extremely prepared and experienced, I would not recommend in December.
