If you have to choose between Moraine and Louise the make sure it's Lake Moraine Wow Wow Wow Get there early (before 9) to make sure you can park, climb the rock pile for the most stunning views, enjoy the lakeside walk - and as...More

Moraine Lake is a beautiful glacially fed lake and worth the time to visit it. I recommend climbing to the top of the rocks to really take in the scenery and breathe that fresh air! We spent a fabulous hour here.

A definite must see. Lots of nearby trails. It is a popular place so get there early or late in the day. Recommend coming multiple times as it just never looks the same twice.

How does one pick the "most" of anything? Tough call especially when comparing lakes in this part of the world, but I do think this one is my most favorite. Certainly less crowded although you would not think that as you drive up given all...More

It was recommended to us that we stop by Moraine Lake while in the Lake Louise area. It's about 10 km up a narrow road just as you enter the village of Lake Louise. Lake Moraine was more crowded than we expected with cars parking...More

Out of all the lakes we seen this trip, Moraine Lake was my favorite. So beautiful! But come after 7 in the evening to enjoy, less people. Be sure to take the trail up the rock pile for the best view.

You see why it's called pile of rocks but the climb up is well worth it. Various views down on the lake which is a different much deeper shade than Lake Louise.

Winding and steep road from Lake Louise offers wonderful views of the mountains and lakes of Alberta.

Is that drive from Lake Louise to Moraine Lake on Moraine Lake Road? Google Map shows it as over an hour. Is it better to do Lake Louise or Lake Moraine first? Thanks!

I am not sure if its called Lake Morraine road but it's only around 20-30 mins. It's a narrow road and there is a queue at the "entrance" (a few miles to the Lake Morraine parking area) if there is no space for parking.

Planning a visit this summer, hoping to rent a canoe. Will have my dog with me, do they allow pets on the canoe with you? He will have a dog life jacket.
