We wore snowshoes to get to the overlook. We probably could have hiked it without snowshoes, but we hiked to the second overlook and that would not have been possible without snowshoes. It was maybe a 10-15 minute walk from the parking lot up to...More

The pictures look just like it does in real life! A short walk from the parking lot along the icefields parkway. It is a gorgeous lake and a must stop location.

One of the most breathtaking & unexpectedly amazing sites I have ever laid eyes on. Go when the snow is on the mountains...it makes the lake sparkle blue!

Absolutely beautiful. This brilliant ice blue lake is beautiful and I hate to say it but just as pretty or better than Lake Louise. Only down fall, the amount of people and buses visiting is crazy !! Try and go early or late in the...More

A beautiful lake in Canadian rockies. The turquoise colour of the lake makes its picturesque. A good spot for taking photos.

You will need to exercise patience if you want to get good pictures but it is definitely worth the 10 - 15 minute walk and the wait. Be cautious on the walk up. We visited in September and there were some icy spots on the...More

From trail entrance, 10-15 min to walk to the top of hill. After that you may not believe your eyes because of scenery. Really beautiful turquoise blue.

What an amazing viewpoint to Peyto Lake! Plenty of parking with well marked trail to a great viewing platform. Very popular spot so you may have to wait to get that photo op.

Most altitudes in the Canadian Rockies are not that extreme. You should not have any problems unless you have abnormal respiratory problems. Bow Summit is the highest point on that highway and it 6800 feet.
