if you're not a local, prepare to get some "looks"

This is a total locals bar! Be prepared for some "looks" while there. Service in Banff overall was VERY friendly, but not here.

On 18 June my wife and I planned to see the soccer game Belgium - Ireland (post-broadcast) at Pump and Tap tavern, as there poster with the broadcast schedule had attracted our attention. Once arrived however we waited long after the mentioned broadcast time before the game was put on. The barman was quite apathic. To our large frustration he... More

What an amazing time I had at the pump and tap! Great value, friendly service and awesome clientele! My girlfriend and I planned on having one drink and next thing we knew we were singing songs and dancing with all the locals there! Hidden gem of a spot. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend for anyone wanting to have a... More

We came across this bar during our last visit. Not a glitzy tourist trap like most other bars in Banff. Nice to find somewhere that's not false. Lots of sports on and VLT's. The drinks and wings were the best prices in Banff. No children allowed but that's not so bad either sometimes....

We stumbled across this pub and boy what a find ! Very relaxed and authentic local friendly pub / bar - English owned by Danny and Warren who were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Look or ask for the Sundance Mall and its in the basement. ! You will not be disappointed! Makes a nice change from all the touristy bars... More

We came up from Calgary, 2 day ski mid week getaway. Hoping to have a fun Tuesday night, maybe sing some karaoke. There was one server and a bartender. The only acknowledgement from the server was when we were putting on our coats after finishing our single beverage my husband got from the bar. She didn't even say a word... More

Great atmosphere in this "local's" pub. We felt very welcome and enjoyed some awesome wings and cheap drinks. The bartender was informative and helpful.

I have been here a few times before and the person on the bar was great, that was in June of 2014. However, this trip, the lady on the bar, completely ignored us, she even looked at us and still did nothing. Apparently according to servers in other bars, you are expected to go to the bar and order. Never... More

I was visiting from the US and selected this bar to watch Sunday night (NFL) football. It's true that it is the cheapest beer in town which is a plus. It's obviously a locals hangout which gives it that feeling that it is meh. That can be both good and bad, depending on one's perspective. I think with a little... More
