The Icefields Parkway takes you past so many glaciers that I lost count. The view at every turn is stunning and a must see for anyone at any age.

On many parts it is breath taking. We went from Lake Louise to Jasper this afternoon and we were just so awestruck with the grandeur of these mountains and glaciers. Not to be missed.

Heading from lake Louise back to Edmonton we took the scenic route and it was well worth it. The sun was coming over the mountains illuminating the peaks and trees as you wind your way through the pass. So many great vistas and views so...More

This is a beautiful, fantastic scenic drive! The parkway is single-lane and not twinned, but it offers wide shoulders, and there are ample stretches with dotted lines to pass (though why would you? You're here for the scenery!). The elevation ranges from 1,200 m. to...More

If you have a day to spare when visiting the Banff and Jasper, be sure to do the Icefields Parkway. Stop at gorgeous lakes green with glacial flour, at streams tumbling through meadows, or roaring waterfalls all framed by breathtaking jagged peaks piercing the skies....More

No, not to get to the Icefields visitors center or the walking/hiking paths. As for seeing the icefields themselves, I believe you have to take a bus and can't do it yourself. But I would check with the park people to... More
