Even my photos from a moving bus were good. I could shut my eyes, point and click and still get reasonable pictures. There was no place to stop looking--or to stop gasping, in surprise and awe. That's how scenic this drive is. This is the part of Highway 93 that runs for140 miles between Lake Louise and Jasper, part in... More

Beautiful, but cold whenever you stop to photograph, and you stop a lot. But, the photos when you get back home, are so scenic and beautiful you say , oh it wasn't that cold! Every time I am looking at the beauty of this wonderful gift of nature, I think, wow, the wisdom of those before us to designate such... More

I had a great time and learned lots from the staff and displays. Had a big drink of the glacier water too.

We wanted to see the Ice field before it disappears. The bus was old but very interesting and big. The ice field stay was nice but very short. Stupid people had to put their hands into all the gaps. The Sky walk however was very nice, modern and had a fantastic view. We had a great time there. It is... More

I'm from England, so driving the roads here, after a while become a little mundane. I wouldn't even say this was the complete opposite, because even that would be doing this drive an injustice! I think I must've stopped in every lay by along the way to admire the spectacular surroundings, pulling into one seeing a grizzly bear casually grazing.... More

Stayed at Chateau Lake Louise for a week, took one day and drove 100 K toward Jasper and loved the scenary. This has got to be one of the best drives in the world. We saw a Lynx crossing the road and there were plenty of stops for pictures. Very light traffic in February. Roads were a bit icy so... More

Sadly over the years, the glaciers have receded due to global warming. The ice fields were kilometres in length and width. It was like a mass of ancient ice which could be seen for a great distance from the highway.

Always remember my parents talking about the "Icefields parkway" decades ago. Well I can see why. Had a wedding in Lethbridge Alberta and this was our opportunity to get here and take a Canadian Rockies/ Montana vacation. I don't want to get too long because there are just so many stop offs and things to see. A day up and... More

Plan for more time than just the travel time to drive from Jasper to Banff, as you will want to stop every couple of kilometers to have a look at some impressive view. Easily on the highlights of the entire country, and easy to see why four national parks are in the vicinity.
