The Sett Valley Trail is an easy walk, good to visit at different times of year to see the changing of the seasons. The Hayfield end also provides a good opportunity to explore the village and get some refreshments.

Lovely, well-maintained path great for bikes, we took it from Hayfield campsite to New Mills with the kids. The round trip was about 7 miles, and there were plenty of places to stop for a rest along the way.

An old ralway line, now part of the major cycle network. Gentle gradients, pleasant views, you have to cross a few roads. Both ends lead you directly into the centres of Hayfield and New Mills, both of which are worth spending time in.

Great walk to bring your dog on, with dog friendly bars and eateries at both ends of the path. Plenty of benches and little parks along the way in case you want to sit down or play ball.
