The Agora is a small arts complex at the west end of Parque Juárez in the center of Xalapa. It has an art gallery, movie theater, and cafe. The movies are often in Spanish but there is the occasional English one. The art gallery has a revolving display of art of all types. It is well worth checking out what... More

The Agora always has different shows going on from local artists; they are well-lit, and it's a nice space. My only complaint is that they won't let you use the bathroom in there!

The Agora was remodeled about 15 years ago by Arquitect Bernal Lascurain and very well done, having a large art gallery, cinema theater, galleries and a balcony cafe upstairs with a nice view of the Lakes area below.

This is one of the best places that Xalapa has in terms of culture. It's the house of one of the most eclectic galleries in town, also here you can find a lintel from the ancient and now demolish Fransicas monastery. Here there is a theater. Visit it, you won´t be dissapointed,

The art is displayed in a space that has a descending series of platforms beneath a traditional brick vaulted ceiling called a "boveda." It's a small gallery, free, so you have nothing to lose spending ten or fifteen minutes here.

I went to the Agora to listen to some conferences during the Hay Festival, I found the seating in the theater confortable but did not get a chance to do other activities at this place

El Agora is a cute little arts center in the middle of Xalapa. It seems hidden unless you know where to find it. Walk through the downtown Parque Juarez to the back side of it, look down, and there it is, sort of across the street from the library. You simply need to find the back of the park and... More
