Bad service but informative museum
Aug 2021 • Couples
We were really looking forward to his place, but somehow I did not really meet our expectations.
First of all, the woman working in the museum was anything but friendly with us…it this because we are foreigners & not Italian citizens? Anyways, the museum itself is small but quite nice and informative. We definitely learned something about the making of Prosciutto. Definitely take the audioguide, though, as all the signs are in Italian only.
Next, we went to the restaurant as we wanted to have some drinks & try the prosciutto. Once again, the people there were not quite welcoming… of course, it could be that they just had a bad day. But please treat customers nicely, no matter where they come from.

A nice overview of Parma ham...
May 2019 • Couples
This was on the "bucket list" of things to do in the area. The museum was small, but gave a good overview of the history of Parma ham and how all the different salamis, proscuitto, etc... has been made in the past. We did not start off with an audio guide in English, but quickly realized that most of the writing was in Italian. So for a few additional Euro, we rented the audio guide, which was well worth it. I think we paid for the museum with a credit card. Afterwards went to get a taste at the venue next door; related, but seemed separate. Well worth it - prosciutto like butter! Probably the best value on the trip! I think I remeber 5 Euros cash for one tasting plate...

A pleasant experience
Nov 2018 • Couples
We started our tour at the Museum of Prosciutto, the girl at the entrance very kind, we saw how the italians started the process of the most famous ham in the world.
After the tour at the museum, we have been consiliated to make a degustation, at the nearby restaurant.
Good value for money. Excelent local hams and cheese.
If you pass by Langhirano you should do a visit here.

Spent an entire day wandering around Langhirano during the Festival Del Prosciutto, for lovers of cured meats, this was amazing, sampling free tasting of the worlds best Prosciutto.

do you provide shuttle service, how far from the lake is the hotel, and is the town center close by -- meaning a short walk
