If you want to experience a perfect "Bounty"-beach, go to Elafonissi. There will be a lot of people, but it's still nice to see and to swim there. A fine place for toddlers to bathe. Low water a long way out. Nice sand all over.

Very pleasant. Nice beach. Not much to do if not into water sports.very crowded when we went. Long queues for toilet and food.Very dusty in car parks. Not good access for disabled or people with mobility problems.
Best way to get there is by organised busses. The are luxurious and you do not have to drive on the crazy Cretan roads and in the heat.

Sorry, I can't say. We drove (rented a car), but surely if you are in a resort or apartment the reception/owner will recommend a travel agent/day trip service to take. There are tons of those that go here, I believe.
