Escape to the shores of the majestic Lake Timiskaming, where peace and beauty await you just a few hours away from the big city. Built on a site used by the Algonquin people for over 1,000 years, Fort Témiscamingue-Obadjiwan was once an important trading post. During the 17th and 18th centuries, the fort played a strategic role in the ongoing struggle between the French and British for control of the fur trade in the Upper Ottawa and Hudson Bay basins. Take part in a culturally enriching experience in harmony with nature, at this historical meeting place where people traded goods.

Informative and well spaced out overlooking Lake Temiskaming. Especially enjoyed the walk through the enchanted forest that also displays the work of Christian Paquette. Staff very friendly and helpful
