We raised funds to study the tourism and hospitality aspects of outdoor adventure and guiding in a private business model. Our group hand-made sausages using wild meat and sold them at the Caribou Carnival in Yellowknife in the early 1990s. We butchered the Bison and Moose meat, de-boned it all, used meat grinders, and then we grilled them all on... More

Had a fabulous time riding through the undulating trails and bush. Got hail but still the horses dud well. Awesome place; well trained friendly staff.

We planned this last-minute and Anchor D was greatly accommodating. The horses were all great and the guides were even better. We had Bonnie and Ceri (Sorry if I spelled it wrong), and both were great with everyone and everything. You could tell they were great, caring people. I spent most of my time at the end of the line... More

Five of us planned a weekend exploring the Cowboy Trail. We were happy to book at the Anchor D. Our first clue that things were not up to par was driving up to 'check in'. The location was great, the lay out of our cabin was great, the scenery, surrounded by horses was amazing, and all other staff we met... More

This was one of the funnest and most awe-inspiring days of my travels. Dewy and the crew are great hosts, and it was a treat to ride the diverse scenery, see the view of the mountains, and be with the horses.

We stayed at the Anchor D in the Grandpas cabin, two girlfriends on a two night retreat. The cabin was lovely, quiet, well equipped albeit with a steep stairway up to the loft. Blissfully quiet at night, and so close to many different places to hike. We enjoyed being around the friendly ranch dogs and little foal Ella who kept... More

Loved it! Would like to go back in the summer. Very friendly staff, great horses. 2 hours was long enough if it's your first time.

There are plenty of reviews describing how excellent this property is, but I want to talk about how they dealt with a customer issue. Somehow, when we made our reservation, it was lost. We found out on the drive down that only 1 out of our 2 nights was reserved, and though our vacation was ruined. They truly went above... More

We stayed in the 2 bedroom log cabin, also had bed settee if needed, fully fitted kitchen , log fire , everything you'd need for a cosy winter or summer break. Only 2 cabins , so not commercialised. After Christmas break , plenty of snow, only 50 minutes from Calgary.. Pleasant and friendly owner and stable worker.

This was one of my best days ever! I've waited over 30 years to go on a horse ride again (ok, I'm only 37! LOL). It was my wife that wanted to go on a horse ride for her B-day that we went to Anchor D. We opted for the day ride and it was worth the money. We went... More
