Visiting the Estuary in San Jose del Cabo

went for a walk to the town and asked people how to get to the estuary. I found it. It was a nice stroll through there to see the birds and vegetation

The estuary is a very unique eco treasure in San Jose and a world wet land designated site. Especially during the migration season this very special body of water hosts a myriad of birds, some of the special, such as the juvenile snow goose we observed one week ago and the leucitic American coot observed last year. Walking along the... More

I've seen a large variety of birds, some turtles, iguanas, horses and of course the token cow. A great walking or jogging spot if you want to get off the roads

A lovely location, quiet and peaceful. I was there in 2013 and again in 2016 after the hurricane and when I was there the second time the path didn't go all the way to the hotel strip which was disappointing. Hoping it's been repaired for my next trip!

I walked both along the beach across the estuary and the trail bordering the Holiday Inn property. I saw several kinds of ducks; a heron; what looked like sandpipers (I think) and several species I haven't seen... More

It's quiet here and there's lots of birds. Beautiful scenery. So if you like that kind of thing, it's certainly an easy walk from downtown San Jose del Cabo

Wander over here if you're looking for some of the bird life. The estuary was teeming with wildlife and this is an excellent place for birdwatchers.

Lovely bird sanctuary within walking distance of hotel zone. Really pretty place nice contrast from the beach. We saw birds and gecos and there is a look out to look over the sanctuary and estuary.
