We love going to the Plaza day or night. You feel very comfortable with Plaza and the surrounding area. Beautiful Mission Church, almost any night plenty of local activities going on in the Plaza. They did move the Art Festival from Thursday to Tuesday so we missed it this year. Still had a great time Thursday evening. We love the... More

I come into San Jose every year for events in the Art district, in the Plaza, and along the main street leading out of the Plaza

The plaza has activity going on every night, especially Thursdays when the town center has their "art walk", which is a "must-do"! There is a stage where locals dance, play music, perform and it is great fun to join in. We had a great laugh trying to follow the salsa dance lessons which occurs every Sunday night.

Plaza Mijares-- often referred to as the town's main square -- is a wide-open area with a bandstand and lots of space for activities. On our recent visit we saw school children in their uniforms practicing a choreographed routine. The huge national flag was flying beautifully in the breeze, making a great sight. On the far (eastern) side of the... More

Must-visit when in town, especially on Thursday evenings. While summer is not Art Walk season, the artists and vendors come out every Thursday night and bring a fair-like vibe to the square. Artists sell some nice, one-of-a-kind items which make great souvenirs. It's a beautiful town square that has a lot of nice shops and restaurants, in, around it, and... More

We walked around this area with some friends on a recent visit to San Jose. Plaza Mijares, a breezy square shaded by ancient trees, contains the mission church, the town hall, some small stores and several restaurants. San José del Cabo has managed to keep its historic colonial atmosphere, laidback friendliness and natural tranquility and was quite impressive to see.

The plaza is a must do. The development of the area has exploded in the last couple of years, there are dozens of new shops and restaurants. The Thursday night art walk is definitely something to do but get there early parking is a nightmare. There were tons of vendors with handmade items along with the art and it was... More

The Plaza can be very busy or almost dead, but Art Walk nights and weekends are interesting times to stroll through. Some of the restaurants to the south offer good value, but it's just as much fun to get a corn cob on a stick or a bag of fresh churros from a street vendor.

It is not as much fun as the beach. Snorkeling and surfing are way more fun. However, you need to go here and see first hand how government involvement ruins everything. The locals are nice. Lots of interesting stores.
