The Muvezi Art Gallery carries Shona art that is very intriguing. Even more interesting than the pieces themselves are the stories behind the art. The most important back story is how a percentage of the proceeds returns to the local artisans so they can continue their livelihood and traditions. we walked through dozens of galleries on the art walk and seen hundreds of pieces of art. the muvezi gallery is really nice and has some very beautiful and unique pieces on display.

The Muvezi Gallery has an excellent display of Shona sculptures that are made by old-world artisans. Not only are the pieces of art quite beautiful (and many are large!), a portion of the sales of each piece is returned to the village where the sculptures were made. Very beautiful art. I was able to come view the art one amazing day, and there is a wall with shelves against it, this specific place had one piece of art I wish i could afford to take home.
