We came back this year and took the class on Moles, it was fantastic. We have previously taken a couple other classes but this was the best so far. Made a green mole and Oaxaca Black Mole. It was the best thing I have ever had in Mexico. We made enough for our meal and were able to take some... More

I have taken several cooking classes before, so for the price I was expecting more cooking, and eating. What we got was a class explaining what chilies looked like felt like and what they were used for, a geography talk about were corn tortillas came from vs flour tortillas etc. Were to go to get authentic produce, like good cactus,... Food is culture. Travel is cultural exploration. Travel and cook and eat! We had a great day cooking with Donna. Despite claims that it would be impossible, we made 2 moles in our 5 hour class and they were both delicious. We even brought some home so that we'd be able to try to match what we made when we... We were in a class of 11 and our group made Almendrado de Pollo, homemade corn tortillas (thanks Rufina) and Arroz Poblano, which Donna served with beans she had prepared the night before. And for dessert Donna demonstrated her technique for making Mexican chocolate. Everything was made from scratch, using a comal pan (she keeps some on hand, made by... More

Donna was very informative of the different regions of Mexico. Mole was never a favorite of mine and she was able to explain why. I learned Verde' mole and the famous Oaxacan Mole. The second is labor intensive but with 7 cooks in the kitchen it was breeze. The beginning to the end of the instruction was thorough and everyone... More

This is great hands on cooking school at the instructors home. A hands on class with very traditional Mexican food. Beside learning about Mexican cooking you also learn a lot about the Mexican culture. If you are the first to sign up for a given date you may get to chose the menu for the day. If you are into... We had a great time cooking and eating at Casa de Colores. Had a wide range of ages and all were happy with our class. Definitely recommend and would take another class if I ever return.

We googled what to do in Cabo and casa de colors cooking class came up. We wanted something different, we've done just about everything the is to do in Cabo. Donna did not disappoint! From meeting us right on time...not Mexican time like some tours, to taking the time to get us back to our hotel after class was over.... More
