Busy place during the day, quite the tourist gathering spot. But, fun to watch people, musicians, and sample tasty food (and ice cream), and don’t forget the fun street vendors, and nearby restaurants. Beautiful at night!

The zocalo is really just the centre of what is a very pretty town. It's a beautiful plaza with a nice park in the centre. It is surrounded by wonderful colonial buildings and some nice cafes to sit in and people watch.

as are most zocalos in Mexico. There are too many Norte Americanos here for my personal taste but it still retains the colonial feeling with plenty of surrounding places to eat or shop as well as benches on which to sit and just watch the...More

Compared to other plazas/zocalos in Mexico, San Miguel's jardin is average. Pleasant enough, and lively on most nights with the Mariachi's. Packed with Mexican tourists on the weekends.
