By colonial Spanish law, the center of every city was required to have a plaza and cattle pasture. It goes without saying that the Catholic Church would build a church there as well. Here you sit, eat a snack or meal from street vendors or bordering outdoor cafes. The beautiful Parroquia is located across the street. Mass is held regularly.... More

A relaxing place with beautiful surroundings. It's a nice park to enjoy ice cream or a drink with family or friends. :)

An incredibly lively square that attracts locals, tourists, travelers, vendors, musicians, and many wedding parties complete with larger than life sized puppets, bands, and wedding processions that feel like parades. A truly unique place.

Beautiful town square. We had a quiet walking tour on a cool Wednesday morning, saw 5 wedding parades from a roof terrace on a Friday evening, and left the Jardin to the mariachis, balloons, and thousands of young revelers on Saturday night... but not before spending a little time watching the girls choosing their flower crowns.

The Jardín is a joyful and magical place. The day is filled with locals, visitors, vendors! The night turns into a gorgeous place, with lots of lights outlining the majestic Parroquia. Mariachis sing, people laugh, and the air is filled with ecpxcitement! This is a MUST SEE when in San Miguel.

Gringos come here by the bushelful and sit for hours doing nothing but gossiping and talking about their financial dealings, but the lifesaver is watching the Mexican community promenade around and around, really cool

Both during the day and at night, this great for people watching, listening to music, eating local specialties, and wandering. Most entertaining public square we have come across.
