We visited the villa on a semi-sunny day and had a tour by the owners, a very friendly and happy to help couple from America. I found out that they can only give tours of the villa whenever there is a big group on the way, since it is a private residence and not a museum for visitors. For a... More

Not open to public but drive down side road and you can get good view across field - follow brown heritage signs

A couple from Atlanta, Georgia bought Villa Cornaro and are in the process of restoring it to its glory, saving it from its previous utility as a day-care center. Once again, there is the symmetry of rooms and some gorgeous frescoes and materials. But here we can see how a beautiful interior of a large house is really a home.... More

The correct name is Villa Cornaro. Listed as one of the ten most influential buildings in the world, it is the only Palladian Villa that is privately owned. The neoclassical architect Palladio built several villas for the wealthy landlords of Veneto. His works and book changed architecture world-wide.
