Wonderful wine tasting in beautiful setting
Jul 2018 • Couples
We went here for a wine tasting for my daughters birthday, working at another top local producer she wanted to try these wines.

We were given tour of the cellars which are incredible, going down in the lift to the lower floor where the humidity and temperature are all controlled.

The views across the vineyards are stunning, the information on pest control and sustainability very informative.

It was interesting to have a wine tasting with side by side tastings, a different perspective to compare flavours etc.

My daughter speaks fluent Italian but I don't so the explanation was in English, this was clear and precise and easy to follow.

A wonderful experience and can highly recommend.

Nice but not brilliant
Oct 2018
We visited this place for a wine tasting. We arrived a bit later than planned, so this may have set the tone, but the wine tasting was a bit haphazard, not really engaged, and the wines were nice but definitely not brilliant. I had expected more from this winery.

Lovely visit and wines
Oct 2017 • Friends
We had a nice visit here in October, shortly after harvest. The tour was relatively brief but informative. Our guide was able answer our questions about the winery and history of the family. The tasting room is nice and the glasses are great! Very good wines as well-one of our favorites! Unfortunately, the day we went was quite foggy and we were not able to enjoy the view form the balcony which is supposed to be gorgeous.

Nice tasting
Oct 2017 • Couples
Our hotel recommended this winery so we went for a tour and tasting. The tasting was pleasant and private. They served the wine in the nicest wine glasses that we have ever had the pleasure of drinking from - zalto (so?) - which was really neat.

The winery was busy just after the harvest so the tour was brief which was okay with us.

If you are used to Napa wineries (or even Tuscany) and tastings, maybe skip this one. This is a small establishment and not impressive to see except for the view from the patio (see pic). They charge for the tasting, which seems to be the norm in this area. but I'm not sure the experience justifies it, honestly. The wines were just okay, in our opinion.

Money not worth
Oct 2017
To expensive 20 euro per person, only 4 wines, didn't get food for the tasting, didn't get a discount when you buy some bottles, the tour is very short and not friendly. There are much better vineyards in this area!!!

Overpriced
Oct 2017 • Friends
20 euros for the short tour is way to expensive. No food for company and only 4 wines to taste. Wines are ok but overpriced.

We are family!
Jul 2016
NOTE: Piemontese winery tours require reservations, to ensure an English-speaking guide. Most "tours" are only 2-4 people. Do not expect gift shops a la Napa or Sonoma; these are people busy making exceptional wine.

When we arrived at Bruno Rocca, we were greeted by the family dogs. After playing some fetch, Elena came out and greeted us. Bruno Rocca is a truly family affair. We had an exceptional tasting while at the adjacent table, the son and daughter were having a business meeting. We noticed an art book of wine labels that included Bruno Rocca (as well as Marziano Abbona, whom we had visited earlier) which was for sale, and the daughter of the family personally signed it for us and presented it to us gratis.
Everyone really made us feel like we were visiting family. An amazing experience.

Must do
Aug 2016
Elena and Louisa are fantastic hosts. We learned a lot about the langhe region and these superb wines. The tastings were generous and we had the room to ourselves for tastings. The tour was very nice and informative.

Resplendence atop Rabajà
Aug 2016 • Couples
Rocca is one of the four names that pioneered Barbaresco wine (along with Bianco, De Forville and, of course, Gaja), and having the chance to see this family's beautiful winery and their vineyards at Rabajà was an amazing experience.

Their passion for excellence in wine oozes from every nook and cranny, and especially from the exuberance and generosity of Elena, who gave us our tour and tasting.

The facilities are beautiful, and the tour gave real insight into how a legendary wine is made. Getting to see the recently built, James Bond-esque family wine vault was breathtaking for this wine lover.

And of course, getting to taste and compare the family's current vintage Barberas (d'Alba and d'Asti) and Barbarescos (standard and Coparossa, which is a mix of two individual crus) was a special treat. They were out of their flagship bottle, the Barbaresco Rabajà, but luckily I was able to buy a bottle at the wine bar in town!

Email or call ahead to arrange a visit to Bruno Rocca -- you won't regret it.
