Nice sandy beach, free parking, steps\ slope down to the beach, public toilets close by.

A lovely beach backed by cliffs, wouldn't want to sit too close to the cliffs assigns of erosion, some parts have netting but if there was a rock fall I don't think the barrier would stop rolling boulders. Sea water is tested for cleanliness monthly and the results published on a sign. Would be lovely for all ages. There are shallow steps down and accessible with care. Plenty of car parking and bus stops. Worth a visit vast this beach was, historically, hard fought for.

Nice place to see
Jul 2018 • Friends
We came in the morning so there were few people on the beach. I saw traces of erosion and few large jellyfish stuck in the sand. It was low tide and I can see the water retreated further away from the shore. It was nice to see the boats from a distance. Nearby villages were also visible.

Depending on an angle, you can take a good photo of this beach.

Stinky and muddy
Jul 2018 • Couples
Utterly confused by the positive comments about this sub-par beach. The tide goes so far out the sea is a distant memory, leaving behind a sludgy, slimy sand. The only nice sand is next to the rocks that are falling, so you have the delightful attraction of warning tape on the beach. Don't waste time here - go to Quiberon for great beaches

Currently there is a problem with the cliff falling onto the beach so for reasons of safety take note of the barriers. June 2018

NON-TROPICAL FAMILY PARADISE
May 2017 • Family
Why would you need to go to some tropical paradise when there's a huge, perfect beach just a few hours away (Manchester-Penestin 5 hours). When the tide's out there's a lovely walk along the beach; when it's in there's a stunning walk along the cliffs. The walk into the sea is shallow and fun (perfect for kids) -- though watch out for sharp rocks underfoot. And afterwards you can eat mussels in one of the bars at the top. The crumbly cliffs are golden, and at one point gold was actually mined from them -- but it soon became uneconomic, thank goodness (it would have destroyed the spot's beauty.) The weather's surprisingly reliable most of the summer, and there's often a refreshing breeze.

a real gold sand beach
Oct 2016 • Family
very nice ans scenic sand beach, perfect for family for a quiet stay, but a lot of wind, waves.... wind surf and kite surf possibilities, sea fishing... a paradise for geologist also, with an ancient gold mine, a very interesting transgression of miocene sandstone, metamorphic rocks and a paleo river.... what else?

Lovely beach
Jun 2016 • Couples
This is a very good place for families to spend the day.
Free parking is available with toilets. Nearby are eating places.
The only downside is that a children's holiday club (residential) had taken over one of the nearby properties but the expanse of beach is large enough to accommodate all.
