The hacienda sotuta de peon is a beautiful place to visit. It has been restored nicely and offers a very organized tour of how the sisal fiber was manufactured. The tour has many sections so it stays interesting throughout the 3 hours. My favorite part...More

We actually showed up late for this tour but they still let us join for a reduced rate. We missed the hacienda, but the Cenote and Agave fields were really interesting. The restaurant was also pretty good.

If you don't want to do the morning tour nor rent a car, I would take beachbums advise and hire a car and driver. There are online car hire sites for Merida and where you are staying should be able to help. The hotel may... More
