Crazy busy hectic town, I felt like I was dropped in the middle of a movie set. There are tons of open air restaurants and stores. The vendors tend to get in your face but just keep moving and say " No Gracias" unless you...More

You have to experience the island to see Mexico, Rent a golf cart and drive around the island, watch out for the cars and the mopeds. There are tons of shops, eateries, story dogs and run down buildings. There are a few nice places mixed...More

Looks like a mini 5th Avenue at night (Playa Del Carmen). Really enjoyed El Patio, Miguel's Moonlite (and Miguel), Faynes, and Terraza Isla.

Worth a trip to ISLA MUJERES. Much more "laid-back" than Glitzy Cancun. Rent a GolfCar go exploring. Great Food Joints & NIGHT-LIFE!

The Malecon has some interesting statues and the iconic marlin. Take a walk away from the front street to get away from the tourist shops. We found a really interesting fresh food market, it’s an intersting place to walk around and enjoy the sights and...More

This is what my wife calls her “happy place”, great restaurants, bards and shops. It can get a little busy some nights but lots of fun. Many places have live entertainment now to liven things up.

Here's the thing we LOVE Isla. This was our 3rd time coming back and gotta say this time I noticed way more police/Marina presence all around the island but especially around the center of town. We love walking down the strip where all the restaurants...More

I'm rating this for the street vendors not the restaurants. I can do individual reviews for each restaurant I visited, and just about all restaurants were worth visiting. But the street vendors ruined El Centro for me. Only bueno thing about El Centro: Pedestrian-only streets,...More

Get pesos, you will save significantly. Also refrain from using credit cards, I had two different cards compromised while on Isla this last November.

Yes lots. It's really grown in the last 5 years so you will be in for a shock how much it has grown. Both good and bad. Probably over 50 restaurants/ vendors on el Centro. There is a small shack on the corner that says... More
