    Def worth a visit
We went to visit having got a hire car. It’s definitely worth a visit if you want to have a day away from your hotel or beach. We went equipped with swimwear and snorkel gear and enjoyed the beach ( away from beach club restaurants) having seen the various sights We went to the look out over the lagoon to see the crocodiles and also visited the lighthouse, museum and nature trail. We missed the last boat ( 2pm) tour of the lagoon which was a shame but we had a lovely relax on the beach. You should take your time and enjoy the nature. Loads of Iguanas hiding in clear sight on rocks ! The snorkelling was good and if you go far enough out you may be lucky to see rays on the sandy beds. Other fish were around the grasses in the sea. Didn’t see many rocks or coral but when you found them they appeared to be nurseries for small fish guarded by some bigger fish ! Enjoy 😀 The entrance fee maintains the nature park ( 340 Mexican dollars per person)

Great park but skip the boat ride
The park is beautiful - lots of life to see! This review is mainly to tell people not to waste their time on the boat tour. The tour itself was just a tourist trap to tip a guide that knew very little about the local wildlife. It mainly consisted of him telling jokes and taking up time while we rode to one side of the pond and back. Then tips were expected. I don’t mind tipping for a valuable education experience but it was poor comedy at best and we didn’t learn anything. Check out the views from the tower - we could see flamingos at a distance. And drive slow! It’s easy to injure or kill and animal if you aren’t paying attention.

    Pristine tropical paradise Eco Beach
Incredible powder white sand that never gets hot. Fresh seafood and Mexican meals made to perfection. Personalized service and clean clear water. Storms earlier in the month destroyed most of their shallow reefs, so snorkeling isn’t what it was when we went last year. Still a phenomenal beach, food, service, and tropical waters.

    Natural scenic view
Beautiful view can’t beat this untouched part of island. We rented a jeep and cruised on down it was a great time even with all the rain we loved it. You have to rent a keep when on island it’s safe and great way to get around!

Once was a must do when in Cozumel, not so much anymore says Captain Glen D. Smith.

Yes, this is one of the top three beaches on the island but things have changed. As a visitor to Cozumel of over 14 trips over twenty years I have been to this park/beach an easy 20 times but the changes have been dramatic. It no longer has that quite perfect beach atmosphere anymore. The little family beach hut that served food and drink is gone and replaced with two competing “Beach clubs” that will chase you down as you enter and ‘Guide you” to “Their side” to serve you. There is a clear competition and you will feel this. The beach chairs are lined up in rows from the water’s edge to the service buildings 6 to 8 rows deep. I guess if I had not experienced the beauty and peacefulness of this park for so many years I would not feel so offended as I do now. So, go and experience just be ready for the crowded beach clubs. The water and the beach are a 5 Star. It is just the experience that has changed. Price to get in to the park is now 16 dollars a person and that is just for entry. You cannot bring food, drink and/or a cooler anymore so bring lots of cash.

Captain Glen D. Smith.

Overpriced. Not much to see for $16/person -- a lighthouse, a beach, a lagoon with hardly any animal life (during a boat ride, the guide struggled very hard to show us a crocodile to no avail). Be aware that the beach club's waiting stuff overcharges customers for food and drinks. They also give you a check in dollars converted from pesos using a bogus exchange rate and claim that their system charges 10% fee if you pay with a credit card.

Thank you for your visit to Punta Sur ... we regret that you have had a bad situation in the park with one of our dealers, we always recommend that you pay in cash so that no additional charges apply. We would also appreciate if you could provide us with the information of the restaurant where you were to be able to give you a correct follow-up. We hope to see you very soon in our other parks.

We loved our trip to Punta Sur and it as so beautiful. This was an excursion from our cruise and was an hour drive from the port to the park. The fresh water area was beautiful with flamingos, iguanas, and one crocodile that we could see. We then went to the beach that had a lovely restaurant that was very affordable that we bought lunch from. Half of our group went to snorkel but being a little choppy for our 8 year old they walked back to the beach we were at and played. The snorkeling was ok but a lot of seaweed where they were snorkeling. The beach was clear of seaweed but if you went in the water about 50 feet it was all seaweed. The sand was so soft and just perfect to play and swim in the water. My 3 year old loved it. Then on to the lighthouse for the great views. Loved visiting here because it didn't seem touristy and could just enjoy nature with minimal shops and food. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

I spent a month on Cozumel and explored every place and this is the most beautiful part of the entire island! For a small fee you can see crocs in the wild, climb to the top of the lighthouse for amazing views, and relax at the beautiful beach. I was so impressed I did a Youtube video. Check it out at "thewrightsights" on Youtube and you will see why you won't want to miss this amazing park!

The lighthouse was awesome and the snorkeling was great here. We came when there were no cruise ships coming to the island and I think we were charged a little more than normal. It seemed ver pricey once you are in the gate. We had two drinks, pineapple that was uneatable and i rented a surf ski for 30 min and the bill was $136us. I didn’t complain about it mainly because the place was empty because of no cruise ships. The beach was great the sights were great. Make sure you stop at the lighthouse and the observation tower and say hello to the two crocs that are underneath the boardwalk. I would do this again just keep better track of what i was spending.

We have been to Cozumel an number of times, but going here was a first (it definitely will not be our last). We bought entry tickets before we arrived, however, once we got to port, we were told it's about 25-30 minutes away and to rent a driver for 4 hours it would be $200 US. We ended up renting a minivan (8 of us) for about $170 US. It was the best idea ever. We were able to drive down, go and stay for however long we wanted. I highly recommend renting a car. It's easy to drive and get there. Once there, you have to drive another 20 minutes to the beach. The drive is scenic and there are a few spots to stop at to see wildlife (crocodiles, flamingos in their natural habitat). At the beach they have a boating tour (every 40 minutes) that takes you through the brackish waters. We missed the boat and headed to the beach. We snorkeled, played in the the white snad, drank and ate great ceviche. Before we knew it, it was time for us to leave, so we missed the boat tour :( we will do it next time!

We wanted to try Punta Sur because the photos we have seen look amazing. It’s at the south end of the island and a bumpy road to the beach.
There is an entry fee.
There are beautiful views along the entrance of the beaches where the turtles nest, they are off limits to people but you can get some great shots of pristine beach, ocean waves and the lighthouse. There is also a boardwalk with a lookout tower before you get to the lighthouse where you can see some wildlife. We saw a variety of birds including flamingos.
The lighthouse is not used anymore and you can walk the stairs to the top for incredible views. There are gift shops and restrooms at the lighthouse stop.
Then onwards to the beach club. Bumpy ride but then you drive up to a parking area. It looks like there are two clubs that share the beach, they kind of run together but the food servers are very territorial, and will let you know if you are not sitting in the right place!
Lots of umbrellas and chairs, also hammocks. Restaurant and restrooms and a small gift shop.
It was overcast most of the day so I don’t think the color of the water was as vibrant as photos we’ve seen. It is very shallow for a long way. There is a lot of sea grass though and not that many fish for snorkelers to see. You have to go out to the reef, which is quite a ways out and they had it closed due to the reef problem Cozumel is dealing with right now. They had snorkel guides (you pay) that would take you out to a part that I guess was open, everyone had to wear a life vest. I didn’t go.
The best thing about this beach is you have enough beach to take a walk on and there aren’t a lot of people, so it’s quiet. The water is very shallow and sheltered, so no crazy waves. It is an eco friendly beach and there is a lot of wild life, including the Cozumel raccoon that made several trips under our chairs.
The food was ok, many beach clubs have better. But it was an enjoyable day.

We went right out to the point first as it closes earlier than the lighthouse and museum. Made it for the 2pm boat tour out around mangroves, tours go at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm. Several bar restaurants down there as well. Fantastic views from the lighthouse, small museum great, specially for identifying some of the wildlife we saw, racoons !!! also stopped at the crocodile viewing tower, none to be seen, but did see flamingos.

This e-bike tour was one of our highlights on our trip to Cozumel. The ride started at the Ecological Park and ends at a beautiful beach site with a restaurant ready to feed you and provide equipment for snorkeling. Food and service was great. We got to relax, swim, snorkel and shower before we started back. We highly recommend MILTON, our tour guide as he made our experience a memorable one with all of his knowledge of Punta Sur plus was very attentive and friendly. Thank you Milton for making our this a great experience for us!!
