There are many photo opportunities on the plaza in San Miguel. The ocean is on one side with breathtaking views, and the plaza is on the other side. There are several shops and restaurants to visit, with souvenirs and clothes for pretty cheap prices. At night, the San Miguel Plaza has a fountain that has a huge display of lights,... More

We are back in Playa after a 12 year hiatus. We visited The Plaza on Sunday, and although some shops were closed, the majority were open. My wife and I were disappointed to see that many of the vendors are now passing off "authentic Mexican crafts" that are actually imported from China. While we understand everyone lives in a global... It's always fun coming the the plaza. Lots of little shops and food. Getting to see your friends from the shops that you have met from previous visits and drinking a little tequila while catching up. Don't forget to get some coconut ice too. It's the best.

The fountain was very nice. Lots of stores around. It was a safe place and very alive. I was surprised how well maintained and clean was.

We were very disappointed last year to see the changes made to the plaza. It has lost all its Mexican charm. There are some things that should not be Disneyfied!

We enjoyed the dancing fountains in front of the clocktower and some of the shops. Safe, lots of stores, and small. Good picture taking area.

Worth stopping by on a Sunday afternoon. There are no public toilets, at least non that pass American standards that I could find. But a lovely, pretty place.

We really enjoyed this shopping area, with local performers and great restaurants. Lots of small touristy shop, but also bigger shopping centers.

Great for a drink, a meal, a chat or just for people watching. Lots of bars and services, lots of space for everyone here!
