The Kulkulcan Pyramid is arguably the most impressive structure at Chichen itza, it's certainly is flagbearer and best know image. You can get righht up to the bottom of it as it towers above you but I feel that without the excellent guide we had, we wouldn't have learned a quarter as much or appreciated it as much as we... The intelligence and execution of the complex is amazing. There are times when the sun makes the serpent on the stairs seem to move, there are specific echoes in the ball courts. The Maya made amazing achievements in mathematics, astronomy, and architecture. Bring cold water when you see this place, it gets hot.

Very cool to see and very impressive to see once in your life and worth seeing if you are in Cancun. It's like a road side monument- you see it, read the plaque and you are done. You can't go inside or get near it (it's roped off). Tons of people there and way over commercialized with tons of vendors... More

Best part of the Chichen Itza complex, if you want good photos without to many tourists on, you need to get there very early in the morning, its gets very busy. We visited in April and the weather was very warm.

My wife and I visited in 2007, and it was great to return this sight a second time, it never gets old or boring to visit a place like this soo steeped in history, being here makes it possible, to see how advanced the Mayan culture was, if you come to visit and are close, this is a must see,...
