This museum is small, but it does have a nice outdoor space with some sculptures, and the archeological ruins were mostly shaded, which we appreciated on the hot day we visited. The tranquil atmosphere is a welcome change of pace from the hustle and bustle...More

The entrance of this museum is right next door to the driveway of the Royal Caribbean Hotel. Every time we walked down the driveway, my husband would say, "We really need to check this place out." I'm so glad we did. There's a small, but...More

We really enjoyed visiting this little museum. Small but very well done. According to the other reviews I expected to see no translations however there were English boards. So conveniently located, just three bus stops away from our hotel and a nice break midweek.

We had a pleasant afternoon in this indoor/outdoor museum filled with local artifacts and ancient buildings. A welcome oasis with tons of shady trees and iguanas all around.

We walked to the Museum from our hotel, although a bus is available, too. The museum housed many Mayan artifacts. Displays were easy to see and some had video narration in both Spanish and English. The gardens outside were mostly in the shade and housed...More

The grounds were groomed well, had interesting digs and remnants of early Mayan civilization. The artifacts housed inside were very good, and unique. This museum is easy to get to...very inexpensive, and worth the time to go.

We visited the museum prior to going to Xchitzen-Iza and it was worth the visit. Several of the exhibits had English descriptions and the history of the Mayans was well covered. The outdoor walk is worth the time to see Cancun Mayan ruins. There are...More

My wife and I had greater expectations for the museum. It disappoint us when basically the coolest thing we saw was the sable tiger they have. I was hoping they will have more interesting stuff to see.

Sorry, we do not know if there are guides or not. We do recall that English language signage has improved since the first year.

Bus drivers will nod "Yes" even if they don't speak English. It is part of being nice in Quintana Roo. Ask to get off at the Captains Cove, or Museo Maya de Cancun.
