Really glad we decided to go on this tour, definitely worth the 2hour bus journey. Our tour guide (who was of Mayan descent) really knew his stuff, very interesting. Chichen Itza itself is fantastic, I originally thought it was just the pyramid but there are loads of other ruins, a sinkhole and numerous stalls selling handmade trinkets. The only downside... We were picked up at our hotel at 7:45 am in a 16 passenger van with two very knowledgeable tour guides. We drove about 3 hours away but they stopped for a break and gave us a continental breakfast and waters. They made sure we kept close and it was hard to absorb SO much knowledge they gave us. The... This tour offers a look into the past at the Mayan ruins. The trip from the hotel took almost 3 hours to get there but we traveled on an air conditioned bus so we were comfortable. Once there we were guided around the ruins by a very knowledgeable man that knew everything about the ruins, culture, history, and traditions. I... More

This was amazing. Waited all my life to see this. It did not disappoint. The tour guide was very informative. My only complaint t was the stop to the so called Mayan village on the way.. it was nothing but a tourist trap. That was my only thing that I did not like.

Very long day with tour guide Victor who though knowledgeable, was condescending. The trip started at 7.30 am with Victor telling us all about Mayans and serving us Tamales ( which was good). The first stop was supposedly a " Mayan Village" but was just a tourist trap. All we did was waste a good hour there. Then back on the bus it... More

Very nice to visit and get to know the history! Well known as a Maia City! Ps: Visited this place in October 2014, though.

Went on this tour with a group of 19. What can I say that hasn't been said already. This is the most famous construction in the Yucatan peninsula and the site dates back over 1500 years. The step pyramid and what we were told about it gave us all an insight to life as it was at this time, it... More

I enjoyed our visit to Chichen Itza. Our tour guide showed and explained some of the structures there, but with only two hours to take everything in we went on our own to explore. Splitting from the tour group was a good choice on our end because we were able to see alot more of what was there including the... More

The experience was great, from the bilingual tour guide to the local Mayans selling their goods was a good experience. Take some money and bargain with the locals!
