fun overall but some safety concerns

This was a great family adventure. The main reason we went was for the ziplining, but there were different "rides" you could also purchase. The site was in a former rock quarry where much of the marble was extracted for the local hotels. Now the old channels of mined out rock have filled with water creating a great play ground... More

We went horsebackriding there with our kids & we felt so awful for the horses.. They looked so underweight that their ribs were showing everywhere & you could see their skulls were just skin & bones! Every chance they had, the horses wanted to stop & eat whatever was around but the giudes would not let them even when we... More

We just returned from Cancun yesterday and did both the zipline and the Shotover boat ride and enjoyed them tremendously, especially the boat ride. We had ziplined before but the Shotover was a new experience. We were concerned the boat ride would be a little lame but it definately was not! Great fun! Our driver was a blast. 360's and... More

Our group of 6 booked the zip-lining and atv tour activities. Zip-lining was sort of a 1-2-3 kind of deal. Not very much instruction, just make sure you held onto the black cable and you were good to go. For me and the boyfriend this wasn't our first time zip-lining, we have been zip-lining in Cabos Mexico last year and... More

This was not the fanciest or the most attractive thing we saw in Cancun, but the kids and us had a great time. The zip line operators were very safety consious, and the kids had a great time riding the lines. The "jungle" atmosphere was really an overgrown quarry, but it was a lot of fun nonetheless. We did the... More

My boyfriend and I did ziplining and ATVs. This was my first Zipline experience so I have nothing to compare it to, and I thought it was a blast. One negative, however, was that we bought the photos taken by the employees of Holkan (they won't let you bring a camera on the Ziplines.) And in the shot of my... More

The staff was fine, but place itself was awful. Friends of mine have done a zipline through the jungle while on a cruise and told me how great it was. This was nothing like I had imagined. There was no zipline through the jungle here. It was just an old, muddy quarry pit that they built the ziplines over. The... More

Ok, well, while on our way to the Holkan, it was raining, when we got there it had stopped but things were pretty wet, we had signed up for zip-lining and ATV. We were told they were canceling the zip-lining for now and that we should do the ATV first. We were given minimal instruction on the ATV but when... More

We selected this excursion after arriving in Cancun, having planned to visit the more highly rated, Selvatica. Visiting Holkan Kingdom offered the ability to "get in and get out" without having to do the tourist bus stops at a gift shop, with lunch, etc. Should have stuck with the original plan and just skipped the gifty-shop. Our hotel concierge booked... More

We booked a zipline + horseride combo with Holkan. The zipline was cool, about 13 towers I believe. The only problem is that the place looks like a toxic waste dump. The water is an unnatural green in the canals that you zip over. This same water is used for their boat ride. Maybe that color is 'normal' for stagnant... More
