You have to see this event. Besides it being a historical performance to nature its a fantastic show of bravery. I can only say that its the kind of attraction that you will only find at Veracruz. Of course you have to visit el Tajin on your same trip to the Voladores.

Stopped in Papantla otw to Tajin. Charming town, interesting mural. Flyers performance just a small piece of the bigger picture. Don't hang around just to see it. It's done also at Tajin.

We saw this show by the pyramids at El Tajin, and again in the city of Papantla near the church in the zocalo. They put on an amazing show, and we were impressed by how gracefully they performed this dangerous and historic ceremony.

An historic ritual performance that is best viewed after a trip to El Tajin and reading about the historical significance. Beautiful to watch.

This is one of the more amazing things we experienced during our trip to the Veracruz region. Having 4 men launching themselves down, tied to a rope and twirling upside down to the music of a flute played by a 5th man dancing on top of the 30 meter pole, was exhilarating. It made our 4 hour trip to Tajin... More

We caught this in Paplanto and I think beginning to end, it was about 20 minutes. Our guide had told us the cost would be 30 MXP. Someone tried to charge me 50 MXP and I refused so they accepted the 30 MXP. Record a video with your cell phone. The performers will happily do group photos after the event... More

Probably the best place to catch this spectacle is at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Ascension, just next to the main square of Papantla de Olarte. Basically, five men climb a tall vertical pole. While one plays the pipes, the other four jump off the top (with ropes attached, of course), and spin around as the rope slowly... More

Very, very good show! We were there for the day to see the ruins. Wonderful place to see! Show is about once per hour or so. A tip is requested, and about 50 pesos per person.
