You go down in the silvermine. The tour was including a guide and was interesting to see how people in the goldmine worked and used to work. Litle touristic. As the asked for tips on two times during the tour. At the end you arrive in a museumshop with some nice stones which you can buy. Not all from the... More

We were taken here on a day trip from Mexico City to Cuernavaca and Taxco. It is a fabricated place that aims to sell cheap silver jewelry to tourists. We also were stuck here for a mediocre lunch because there was no place else around. I did find some trinkets to take home and prices are OK. But there are... More

This silver factory is a tourist place visited by the tour buses. The store has very nice silver products but the prices are not competitive with the local shops that are seen later in your tour. They use high pressure sales from your local tour guide to the in-store sales personnel pressuring you to make purchases. Overall, it was an... More

We were just walking by... when a very nice gentleman invited us to come in and explore the museum, and we're happy that we did. It was quite interesting, and provided us with a perspective into silver mining that gave us a better appreciation of the importance that silver has had upon the town of Taxco. My girlfriend grew up... More

We learn that the earth is not easy giving away the silver. Some 50g on 1000kg of stones that are carried out of the mountain by children who could creep still deeper inside ... once upon a time in the west. Now we have technologies, and the silver goes to the US where it is blended to the required qualities... More

This museum is closed but some of the items have been moved to a little store near the Cathedral. I was disappointed.

Lots of 'wow' factor to the museum. Silver sculpture created specifically for national competitions. Amazing craftmanship.
