It has its own interesting charm. If you are close, check it out. It has more Maya influnces than most.

The church is grand from the outside. The square is full of small vendors selling all kinds of trinkets (which I call tourist tat, although some of it was very pretty). I'm sure my experience would have been better if I could have gone inside.

Been working on it since I got here. It's pretty but not really special. Decorating for Christmas and that will help.

One of the things you can easily visit and nearby the mail placa. Just go in and walk around. It is refreshing cool.

The landing leading up to this historic cathedral is a cornucopia of events and items for sale in the impromptu marketplace. Once inside, the traditional colonial architecture is a breath taking site.

Historic and beautiful in every way, one cannot miss it when in San Cristobal. Many groups meet here, social events are happening and, of course, attending church/mass.

The square in front of the cathedral can get more than a little crowded with both real indigenous people and fake ones performing ritual dances. This is a really good place to use as a reference whenever you go out in the city. The street...More

All of the churches and traditions are walking distance...get to know about the chocolate, coffee, traditional food and buy an artesania. Get your warm sweatter, it gets chilli in the morning and evenings
