Being mexican, i must admit that I was skeptical about this tour at the beginning because i couldnt understand why there were no mexican agencies offering similar experiences. Well reality is there are not other options. After much digging with locals nobody could reccomend me...More

Thank you for the kind words, and again to others who have complimented the services we offer. However, a word of clarification is in order. Our agency is indeed Mexican, 100%, registered with three different divisions of the federal government. The staff/management of Mezcal Educational...More

As part of our 3 week tour of southern Mexico we couldn't miss out on learning all about Mezcal and how it is made - what a brilliant experience. Alvin picked us up from outside our hotel (having done all the correspondences by email before...More

If you are even the least bit interested in mezcal this is the experience to have! Randall is a joy to be around and his expertise has to be unmatched in Oaxaca. We were able to taste some incredible mezcals and foods and the people...More

Randall is a total pro, kind, timely, extremely knowledgable and well connected in the mountain villages. He drove the two of us around the region south west of Oaxaca city. We visited with a handful of master mescaleros, their homes/places of business, but the visits...More

Have a spouse or friend who is beguiled with mezcal and wants to make a pilgrimage to see its origins? Go out for a day trip from Oaxaca with Alvin and you won't be disappointed. In contrast to the sometimes sterile-feeling tours of liquor distilleries,...More

Alvin provides a unique, informative, and very special experience. We visited about four palenques, and had three opportunities to buy mezcal directly from the makers. It is all delicious, artisanal product, sold by kind and wonderful people. One of the best tours of any kind...More

Thanks for the kind words, and again to those who have previously flattered us with their commentaries. On that day we (they, that is) sampled roughly 30 different mezcals. Neither of us ever push people to buy, and purchasing is always optional with no pressure...More

As mezcal enthusiasts, my husband and I felt a deep desire to study this magical elixir in depth to understand it better. How does it elevate me to such heights with no ill effects? Why do I hear angels sing when I sip it? Where...More

Thank you so much for the kind words, and of course to those who have previously complimented the mezcal excursion services we offer in the state of Oaxaca. A comment about cost is in order. We don’t know and never check what anyone else charges...More

My boyfriend and I did a private mezcal tour with Alvin on our recent trip to Oaxaca. Reading the reviews we had high expectations for the day and Alvin delivered on those tenfold. The tour was like stepping into the pages of a mezcal production...More

We visit several distilleries (ancestral and artisanal) or palenques, not mezcalerías (retail outlets in the city). We have several different routes depending on what the client wants.
