We have sat here several times to eat a sandwich and we love relaxing in the shade and watching the world go by. A beautiful spot to enjoy Oaxacan everyday life without being pestered by hawkers as happens in the Zocalo all the time. More Mexicans going about their business

Fri has the big market with food to make at home or eat right there. Sunday am has Zumba. The rest of the time its a park for sitting, talking or watching the skaters or the musicians. Plenty of food trucks serve the park and the big VIPs diner is on the corner

Popular with locals, the flea market lines the perimeter of this large park on weekends, including pop-up fondas on the north side for a sit down meal.

Always a nice shady place to sit and rest, with various events for both children and adults often on view. Even at it's quietest the park provides an oasis of green and is a good place to people watch.

I love this place. It's a nice spot to sit on a bench and read a book, to people watch or get some exercise. This is one of the few places I have found so far in the city where it feels appropriate to run or otherwise exercise in public. They also have a great market there every Friday. Definitely... More

This used to be the city zoo many years ago, after that, a park that has undergone some renovations but allways seems to be needing more. It's a nice place for a walk or a jog. On Fridays you can buy fruits, vegetables and some excellent tacos at the "mercadito". You can also get your shoes shined and watch the... More

Parque El Llano is always buzzing with activity. Whether you are out for an evening stroll with family, or taking outside Zumba classes on Sunday morning, this park is always hosting art, music, food and mescal festivals. I planned my nightly power walks through this park so that I wouldn't miss a thing. Even when nothing special is happening, the... More

Parque Llano (for short) is a great place to spot quite a variety of birds in the city. It also has a thriving Friday market, and is a pleasant place to sit in the shade to read or people watch. It is a block from the Oaxaca Lending Library.

We love Oaxaca. But after awhile, it is nice to find the spaces with trees, and where children can run. The Llano park is a fun option, and in the evenings there are bouncy houses, trampolines, art projects and battery operated cars that parents can rent to keep the kids entertained. You can also run in the Llano if you... More

I great place to walk around with friends, pick up some fried bananas and if you are lucky to be there during the right time of the year, delicious tacos!
