Visiting Xochimilco and touring the waterways on a boat was one of the highlights of our trip to Mexico. Doing this on Sunday was magical because it is the busiest day of the week and the canals were teaming with musicians, chefs on floats and...More

This is a lovely way to spend a few hours! We enjoyed the floating gardens, live music, and food along the way. We went with friends who also had kids and there was lots of room on the boat and they had fun together, too!

Our family visited Xochimilco on a Monday mid day and had a good time. Although the water is VERY filthy, it is still something that I would highly encourage if you are in Mexico city

Boat trip great fun, we went on a Sunday and it was crazy but very happy, lots of smiles and noise. Just don't go in the reptile enclosure which is by a garden centre. It is a rip off and the reptiles are kept in...More

It is an experience. Punting wooden boats filled with endless bands, smaller boats peddling everything, canals filled with these boats, the gardens are gone, but it is great fun, not to miss.

It was ok. Mostly a tourist trap but can be a fun time for what it is. You don't see much. Mostly people floating up trying to sell things.

Xochimilco
Xochimilco is one of the most ancient and natural
parklands around the city. Used as an important
agricultural area since the Pre-Hispanic era, it holds
a great variety of flora and fauna that you can
witness while canoeing on your own or taking a ride in
a classic trajineras (gondola-like boats) decorated
with juniper and flowers. Enjoy some Mexican antojitos
while sipping a bit of mezcal or tequila and listen to
