This museum is definitely worth a stop on your way to the Cathedral and other large attractions. It is free admission, and the sculptures are magnificent. Not necessarily of interest to children - but if they love sculpture they might enjoy these works. I took...More

Cuevas was one of the leaders of an art movement in the fifties, La Ruptura, which broke with the tradition of overtly political art of the post-revolutionary era. Other than that, there's really not much reason to visit unless you're an art history major.

This is a huge former monastery building next to the Church of Santa Inez. I was not charged admission. There is a huge imposing sculpture in the center of the cloister. The entire museum exhibits works by Cuevas, some better and some not so good,...More

Yes, Virginia, another single artist museum in Mexico City, this one with a twist: hundreds of portraits of Cuevas by his friends either painters or photographers and I could only spot one large canvas by Cuevas himself.Somehow I felt cheated on my visit...
