Small multi-level museum with religious, contemporary and XVII-XIX century art. Beautiful thought-provoking pieces. The building, inside too, is a piece of art. The people who can visit this in 20 minutes are not seeing anything, they are merely having an overview. I was there for...More

Historic and modern art share this small museum inside a historic mansion. The historic art includes portraits of some wealthy ancient families. The Spanish ladies certainly were no beauties! There were two modern art exhibits, one on toys/magic and the other on women's psyches and...More

The City Museum of Guanajuato has historical religious and secular paintings and three different galleries of contemporary art. I suspect this building might originally have been a convent and it still contains a small and beautiful chapel which contains a triptych illustrating the conquest of...More

It’s a quick (20-40) minute drop by, for 25 pesos, in an interesting building. Nothing overly “wow,” or memorable, but some out-of-the-ordinary artwork. Enjoyed a yesterday and today traveling exhibit. And, there was a somewhat disturbing, but interesting, traveling exhibit by an artist that is...More

This is a good museum to visit if you wish to see a variety of art that you could see at local churches and museums. Ability to read Spanish is helpful. Does not take long to visit.

Both years I visited this museum I enjoyed the exhibits. The building itself is architecturally interesting and the exhibits are well displayed and always interesting.

For 25 pesos, it's probably worth the 10-15 minutes you will spend inside. There is a collection of miniatures, as well as a lot of information and related to important people of Guanajuato's history. To appreciate the descriptions, you will need to be able to...More

This is a nice combination of an old church and a modern artist. You will see his works as well as religious and cultural paintings from 19 and 20 century. The 'chapel' has a good, big mural, seats, quiet. There is even free banos! But...More
