Calle Independencia provides a showplace for art furniture, jewelry, and other mediums. Most of the products are made in nearby Tonala where you can buy them for a much cheaper price. However, I'm not all that mobile and Tonala is dusty and loaded with chaos and trucks, so Calle Indenpendencia works for me. Great restaurants, too. You can watch artists... More

Excellent to stroll and spend an entire afternoon. Window shopping and having a Margarita and any of the typical restaurants on this street. All shops and most rest close early. (Around 9 PM ). In general I found it to be a safe area.

Great area for walking around and chacking out the little stoes and restaurants. This street is very clost the cetral plazas and historical buldings. Easy walking and lots to see.

This is a great pedestrian walkway with a wide variety of shops, galleries, and restaurants. From cheesy tourist merchandise to high end galleries, it has something for everyone. Nice places to sit and people watch as well. This is a place that you can walk down a few times and always find something new.. Enjoy.

Fun to walk along and see the history and shops along the way. There are lots of little shops and food stalls, as well as plenty of pretty plants to view and opportunities to take great photos!

All our visitors love Tlacapaque and the pedestrian center, Calle Independencia. Try to arrive after 10 in the morning so you can shop and go to the pottery museum. Then enjoy one of the wonderful restaurants.

I love walking around along Calle Independencia, specially noticing the buildings surrounding the street. They have done an excellent job keeping the place looking neat, without stealing from the Colonial style that the hundred year old buildings have.

Find your way to this street and you will not be disappointed. There is a feast for the eyes in the different shopping experiences, ceramics, clothes, leather goods, etc

It was actually very nice, but nice is nice. Once can see lots of nice. Take a look if you are close by, or stop in any neighborhood that looks nice to you. Do not make a special trip and one need not spend more than an hour or two there.
