If you are staying in the area for awhile, check out this museum. I have been coming to Zihuatanejo for many years and was ignorant of its pre Colombian history. Apparently the surf break or wall at Las Gatas was constructed during this era. Also,...More

Clearly the community has done the best it can with limited resources to tell its story with this small six room museum. As the name (Arqueologico ) implies the focus is on the pre-Colombian civilizations that inhabited the Costa Grande region of Guerro state, including...More

I appreciate when people take the time and make an effort to gather information to create a museum of their area. I wish there was some English signage so we could have learned more.

Lots of great history to see. They take donations to operate, very good well done. The staff can offer all kinds of information on area and history.

This is a small museum with several rooms of artifacts. It is an open-air museum housed in an old rock building. It appears to be run by volunteers and it is a voluntary donation to enter. The exhibits are in Spanish only. There is a...More

I am a museum junkie and I felt these folks did a great job telling the story of the people who had inhabited that part of Guerrero for millennia. Interpretation is simple, a chance to practice your Spanish, or take a card in English explaining...More

An interesting museum, script was all in Spanish, but they did have an English sheet that tried to explain the culture, but I felt it was poorly done. There were a lot of ancient artifacts that were displayed, but there was no real connect made...More

This is a small museum in the older section of downtown Zihuatenejo. We read the earlier reviews before visiting so were not expecting an urban museum. There were some nice objects in the collection. There is an informational board that English only speakers can reference....More

This is a great place to learn about the early history of the Costa Grande area of the state of Guerrero if you read either Spanish or English. Some may think that a museum might be boring while on vacation, but this one is quite...More
