You must do this if you come to PV. The sites are well worth the walk. The sand castles were my favorite but there's so much more. Restaurants, bars, artists, ocean, beaches, and be sure to peruse the side streets to get the real flavor of Mexico.

Great for power walking or strolling and people watching. Lots of shops on the Malecon and on the side roads as well.

We actually went to the Malecon twice during our stay.Try to visit at night,as there are more activities going on.More vendors, artists etc.The restaurants along the Malecon are mostly touristy-venture up the side-streets or to the southern most point for better choices.

El Malecon boardwalk is a great place to stretch your legs, enjoy the views and watch the world pass by. From tourists, to locals, to workmen to smiles. A great place to spend a few hours, an afternoon, lunch or dinner, an evening with friends enjoy a beer and some lobster or fish. The views, all around, are spectacular. We... More

Spent a few evenings/nights walking around Downtown Vallarta, lots to see and a friendly place. The usual shops but sidelined by the street artists and live music. A beautiful place with amazing views from the sea wall.

Malecon is great! It's part of the heart of PV and can't be missed. Go on a Sunday when all the locals come and fun is going on!
