Ecotours Mexico is a small, family owned and operated Eco- Travel and Adventure Tour company that started operating in 1991, which makes them pioneers among the eco- tour operators in the country, we are also founding members of the Mexican Association of Adventure Travel and Eco-tourism (AMTAVE).We have led tours for international associations such as the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the American Museum of Natural History in N.Y; the Saint Louis Zoo, and the National Wildlife Federation. At Ecotours de Mexico, we offer a different option for people who are interested in having a new and unique experience, who want to learn about the places they visit and are concerned about nature and conservationIn order to provide this, we have a great team of guides, mainly expert biologists and naturalists with a huge passion for nature. Our goal is to offer personal and professional attention on every one of our Eco- tours. Our tours are run based on the premise that you can't love that which you don't know, and we truly hope that after traveling with us you'll definitely share in our knowledge and our love for nature.Ecotours & ConservationBeing an authentic eco- tourism company, we have our own ongoing Humpback Whale research project since 1996. We are founder members of Ecologia y Conservacion de Ballenas (Ecology & Conservation of Whales) a NGO dedicated to research, conservation and protection of our oceans with main focus on Humbpack Whales. We have collaborate on the photo-identification project on the Humpback Whales and we are part of the Banderas Bay Humpback Whale Disentanglement Network. Ecotours is also involved in the Sea Turtle conservation program. We have been working as volunteers at different turtle camps in Michoacan and Oaxaca since 1990, and since 1998, we have been making donations and funding scholarships for the volunteers working at the main Turtle Camp in Banderas Bay. In 2010 we started actively supporting the conservation project of military macaws in the Sierra MadreWe believe education to be of outmost importance, and our staff frequently takes part in seminars at schools and universities in the area. We have also been invited to speak at several local, national and international tourism and eco- tourism conventions.

This tour is run by marine biologists and prides itself on care of its clients as well as nature. I went on the Marietas tour last week and was extremely satisfied. (the small group tour with access to the Hidden Beach). Cristina was our guide and she was absolutely fantastic. The tour consisted of some time on the hidden beach... More

My family went on the hike and snorkeling trip led by Cristina and we had a fantastic time! Cristina was professional, knowledgeable, and had a bubbly personality. The hike from Boca was a bit strenuous but exactly what we we looking for. Snorkeling at Colomitas was beautiful. I would highly recommend this tour. Brad and Noura

We took a kayak trip to Tomatlan, a beach accessible only by water or a hike in. The trip was very enjoyable. Our Guide Cristina was knowledgeable, friendly, careful of our welfare, and a lot of fun! She also knows her birds and fish! The snorkeling was great, counted over 22 species. Lunch on the beach relaxing, and then unfortunately... More

Our bilingual guide, Charlie was excellent. He was punctual, knowledgeable and very happy to answer all our questions. He found some enormous blue whales with in 15mins of leaving the harbour. The food and drinks provided were great, especially the tortas! I can't speak highly enough of this tour. It was an incredible experience for everyone on board.

We recently took an excursion while in port with Eco Tours De Mexico and were completely happy with our experience. The guides were informative, enthusiastic and ambitious, but at the same time extremely patient with us while hiking through the jungle and teaching us to snorkel. It was the best excursion on our whole Panama Cruise. After snorkeling we were... More

I was unprepared for the quality of this Birding experience. The guide Fernando had encyclopedic knowledge of birds in the area. He was delightfully funny intelligent, sensitive to the needs of the clients. We saw 64 different species of birds which added to my small collection. The trip attracted a brilliant birder from England who was equally as good as... More

Our fifth experience with Ecotours; and they are still our choice for bird watching and whale watching when we go to Puerto Vallarta. The guides are excellent and care. We've always gotten our moneys worth with Ecotours.

Fernando and Raoul were very knowledgeable and informative. The whales and dolphins we saw on the trip were amazing. It takes a little work to get to the "hidden beach". (Be prepared.) But it's worth the effort.

A small boat with knowledgeable guides Kristina and Raoul who knew just where to find the whales made for an exciting, memorable experience. They brought a good deal of enthusiasm and a scientific approach to identifying the whales and their behaviors that made the morning so interesting. The time flew by. I would recommend it to everyone.

My husband and I joined the Sierra del Vallejo tour on February 1 and very much enjoyed the experience. Led by two biologists, Cynthia and Fernando, we spotted 50+ birds in the Guamuchilito area and at a ranch east of Bucerias. Fernando really knows birds and identified and located them by sight and sound. Very good binoculars were provided and... More
