This was a fun adventure we did with our kids & grandkids. It's about a half hour walk up to the waterfall from the town. We did this with 3 young children and they were Great hikers. Some chose to ride horseback on the way down which was fun for them. Getting off the boat onto the pier can be... More

Quimixto is only accessible by boat. We hired one in Boca for a nice cruise down the coast. Once in Quimixto, it is about a 45 minute walk up to the falls. Or, go on horseback. This is a tour destination so there are people coming and going. We went early enough in the morning to reach the falls when... More

I stayed at a jungle retreat located amidst this little village. I rented a horse and rode to the waterfall. I hiked from here to the next village. I met many local people who were all friendly and welcoming. The beach is so private that most days I was alone with the wild beach dogs. It was really nice to... More

This area is about 1 hr boat ride away and is served by numerous boats. We did horse riding visiting the waterfall but can be reached easily on foot as well. Nice trails to go although a bit sandy sometimes.

My favorite water taxi destination. Authentic seaside village with a quiet, relaxing crowd-free setting. The easy hike or horseback ride to the falls is a must. Good food at Los Cocos cafe on the tranquil beach.

We ended up going here because a local told us about it. We took a boat from Boca, went out and snorkled, and then went to this quaint little village. We road horses up to the water fall and pool, swam, slid down the rocks, and ate at the restaraunt hanging over the water. Very down to earth. Felt old... More

We spent Christmas day in Quimixto to get away from all of the tourists. We took the water taxi from Boca and then walked through town to get to Coco's. It was so relaxing and great service, good food and drinks. I highly recommend Quimixto for a day trip. No cars, nice beach... very tranquil.

We took a private tour to Quimixto, a walk through the village and then horse back ride to the waterfall. It was such a memorable way to spend Christmas day with our 3 young adult kids.

Beautiful horseback ride up to a waterfall, with options at the beach for snorkeling, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Great food as well.

Decided to give Yelapa a miss and go to Quimixto instead. Its one of those places that you have to go to (I don't think many do as only me and my wife got off the water taxi) -- there's not a lot going on -- but we ended up in a family owned "restaurant" -- there was no menu... More
