Playa Los Camarones is north of Playa Los Muertos on Banderas Bay. It is a very quiet beach on week days. It has very few beach vendors, restaurants, bars, or people. There a couple of nice beach restaurants: El Barracuda's & Mangos. They are both great spots for watching the sunset over dinner & drink. On the weekends, this beach... More

Quieter area of beach than some. El Barracuda Restaurant is overlooking it. Not usually crowded. Few if any vendors

Great beach with two of our favorite restaurants, El Barracuda and Mango Beach Club. Great place to take pictures of the sunset.

Pros: Less crowded than Playa de los Muertos. Cons: Not a nice sandy beach - more like sand, pepples and big rocks. The beach quality is better in Playa de los Muertos. In both Playa Los Camarones and Playa de los Muertos, the sea is too violent to be able to enjoy a quiet soak.

Excellent beach. While there are lifeguards, they are not always on duty. Easy to grab a blanket or towel, some beverages, and hit the beach.

This is MY beach in PV - where locals convene on weekends, bringing their tables, chairs, coolers, umbrellas, boom boxes, and families. During the week, it is very serene, with dog walkers (now on leash on this beach), and a handful of swimmers (this is a BLUE FLAG BEACH), as well as just a sprinkling of vendors. Sunsets from this... Nice little beach in the heart of el centro we usually stop there instead of going to los Muertos where the waves are stronger we like it more quiet and peaceful also nice to have a little walk on the beach about quarter mile nice sand and fewer peddlers its close to our house and we enjoy it immensely.

We always stay in Old Town Puerto Vallarta and divide our beach time between Playa Los Muertos in the south end and Playa Camarones, the beach just north of the Malecon. Getting there from the old town takes about 10 minutes and 7.5 pesos by bus. Take any bus going north and jump off at Ley's department store, then walk... More

Very mellow, you can catch all the sunsets and enjoy a brown paper bag beverage. Very family friendly and less vendors.
