We were headed for an early dinner on Saturday afternoon but saw Olas Altos and recalled the many fun meals and strong magueritias we have had here. We were seated far in the back which is less crowded and viewing the swimming pool in the adjoining hotel. We explained to the waiter that we were vegans. They made us great... More

We always stay downtown romantic zone on Olas Altas, so much within walking distance like shops, bars, restaurants, stores, crafts, and near the malecon. Can walk around anytime of day, its safe place, lots cool sites and the old cobblestone roads. So much to see and do around Olas Altas. Andale's bar is always happening, there's Pancho Tacos, sports bars... More

Don't be surprised if you see a big fish being delivered. It is freshly caught! Average fare, reasonably priced.

During the day it s also enjoyable with cafe's, bars, shops, walkways to the beach. At night it turns into a great fun area. It comes alive with very happy tourist. If your straight try Andele's or gay try Apaches which has great happy hours. Just choose a place and you will be back.

This is probably the best known street in Puerto Vallarta, at least in the Zona Romantica area. It is a very vibrant stretch of a few blocks with a lot of places to eat, drink, dance or just people-watch. I am here each day of my visit to Puerto Vallarta. You should be too... :-)

The street is vibrant, always busy, as our condo was on the third floor we found it to be a great place to watch people going about their business both locals and tourists. There are many shops, restaurants and bars located along the street. A lot of condo building usually have the first floor commercial and the rest housing. A great... More

Olas Altas has always been the main tourist zone in the southern part of town. It has always had a lot of clubs, restaurants, little shops etc. It has always been an area where a of of gay folks congregate - both the resident gay gringos as well as tourists from elsewhere. it is also a place where the local... I love to sit at Cafesta on Olas Altas and people watch. It's a collection of mostly gay men, mexican national families and cruise ship folks in for the day. It's a blast to see the various styles of dress and undress...people heading to the beach. If you get there early, you can watch the walk of shame as club... More

We always stay in this area. Safe area, plenty of restaurants and bars and shops. If you don't know where you want to eat, you'll find somewhere on this street, so many different quaint restaurants and fun places to stop for a drink. Even some street entertainment onceinawhile which is always fun to watch.
