Our tour guide took us through Gringo Gulch and told some wonderful Burton & Taylor stories and showed us some of the famous "meeting up" spots. It was truly a step back in time if you are old enough to know the Burton & Taylor reference.

The architecture, gardens, and views are stunning and quite different from what one can see elsewhere in Puerto Vallarta. Go with a guide to hear all the salty stories!

Fun to see but definitely go with a tour guide who can show you the cool things to see. Here you can see the house that Elizabeth Taylor lived in. Our guide showed us the street where Herbie Goes Bananas was filmed. There are a few other cool houses in the area.

My husband & I were exploring Isla Cuale when we came upon an amazing staircase that seemed to go straight up to the sky. We asked a fellow that was relaxing nearby, where it terminated. He said that he lived in the area at the top of the stairs & that it was called Gringo Gulch. I had read about... More

Interesting part of town. Sits up the hill from old town. This is where you will find Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burtons homes. It has a great view of the bay and town. Nice walk if you don't mind a lot of stairs.

We were on the top of the isle of the River and walked the many steps upward to Gringo Gulch. Beautiful views of homes and the city. Take the back streets back down and you will discover great restaurants and a Jazz Club.

By walking directly 'above' the main church downtown, one arrives in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood overlooking the city and the bay. We meandered along yesterday morning for about an hour, ending up at the giant concrete tower for a stunning view of the area. The neighborhood walk was only slightly strenuous - the walk to the lookout tower was... More

Wandered through this area one morning. Many hidden paths and surprises await the explorer. The views are excellent.

We have been here many times but usually to go for dinner and we take a taxi. Yesterday we put on our hiking shoes and walked all around the neighbourhood. Great architecture and beautiful views

This beautiful area of the city is steeped in the history of Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor's Puerto Vallarta romance. Go see the Casa Kimberly.
