Wherever you stay in Manzanillo, this beach is a gem on the bus line. Sweeping views of Santiago Bay, beautiful sand, sometimes surfing, boogie boards, public, and tons of fun. Mid-way between points, tourist spots nearby, it is the playground for many...good for kids of all ages.

We especially like the artisans' market located here, where we bought a lovely ceramic fish for only $2.

It was a small seaside community down the coast from Manzanillo. The beach was nice but a lot of rubbish around and unfinished buildings. People were friendly and pleasant.

The beaches extending across the bay forming the north lobe of the Manzanillo bay are lovely for walking. The sand is firm under foot and can be beautiful, as the micas floating in the receding waves reflect the sun like flakes of gold! At the west end of the beach is La Boqueta, with popular ramadas (thatched roof beach restaurants)... More

Well if you are an adept swimmer or you have a board to surf, this is the place for you, steep drop in the sand makes big waves that crash and create underwater cross currents that can pull you down and maybe drown you. So be carefull and keep that leash tight and board close.

If you're looking for waves you can boogie-board (even surf if you have a board), want to sip coconut water with rum splashed inside, and enjoy a long walk along the beach, this is the place. Although tons of locals on this beach and a few hawking their wares, we felt very safe and had a good many conversations.
