Still a place to see the sites and culture the new remodel falls short of what this location is to be about. A few local vendors are nice but it is over the top now. The replacement of the gazebo for the monstrosity that is there now is mind-boggling.

I wanted to see the zocalo, so i walked there from the cruise terminal. It was interesting to see all the vendors, the colorful displays of goods, and all the people walking around enjoying themselves on a sunny afternoon.

Nice place to meet with friends and family. Lots of vendors selling snack foods and souvenirs. There are nice restaurants. Got to see the International Festival of Mariachi's performing in the square.

The Zocalo is next to the cathedral. Lots of street vendors selling food and Mexican art/tourist curios etc. Not bad for a short walk around.

Gone many times. Just finished remodeling it. Doesn't have the gazebo any more. Lots of shopping. Has lots of nice restaurants. Always go for Halloween to see the local children in costume.

There are several shopping centres around Zocalo. Certainly there are plenty of places to eat. I was told there is a bookstore where it is possible to buy a postcard, but I didn't find it. It's hard to send a postcard from Acapulco. Be very careful on the roads - nobody follows the rules.

Great area to wander around in. Felt very safe with the army and police on practically every corner. Lovely area to buy some touristy sort of things and great variety of inexpensive yummy food!

It is interesting to walk around the square and look at historic buildings and people who spend time there. A good place to start exploring Mexico City!

The Zocalo is based in the main square of Acapulco where you will find a beautiful historical Cathedral. There are lots of shops and vendors in the square along with some very good restaurants at a very reasonable price. It has received a major face lift and it is 95% complete. They added 3 areas where water shoots up from... More
